3.5 stars. It's been a while since I last ate here! Quality is pretty consistent, service was no frills though cordial. Our party of 3 arrived at 9pm and they close at 9:30pm so they still seated us but asked us to order immediately which we did in a bout 5 minutes after being seated. Total seating in the restaurant probably fits about 50-60 people. They have a pretty extensive menu with many options for pho, bun (rice vermicelli), noodles, soups, appetizers, seafood, meat (beef/pork), poultry, vegetables, rice dishes. It's decently clean for an old school Vietnamese restaurant (floors weren't greasy!) and service was fast. We ordered #3 Pho Dac Biet - eye of round, brisket, tripe, tendon ($13.95) and two of the same bun bowls of #54 Bun Cha Gio Thjt Nuong - bun with grilled pork and spring rolls ($15.50). Pho came out within 5 minutes of ordering. The bun bowls came out about 7-8 min after that, and though it was close to 9:30, the staff passed us the check at 9:25, but was kind enough to wait for us to finish up quickly and leave. There's a cash price and credit card price listed on the menu for each item, equaling about 3.5% extra if paying by card. For small businesses I get it, with rising inflation that's a significant $ to gift to credit card companies. And man, gone are the days of $8.50 for a bowl of pho! The food itself was fresh and tasty, each bowl of bun we ordered came with several pieces of grilled pork which was well marinated though maybe a wee bit salty. The spring rolls were crispy and filled with pork and veggies. Pho broth was a little light but overall ok, though they gave what looked like a slightly sad amount of bean sprouts. It's been years since I last had their shareable family style dishes, so can't really comment on those now. Overall solid enough to come back when in the mood for Vietnamese food in this area.

The food was alright. I enjoyed it but it's not my #1 palate to go too. The sauce for bottom plate was ok to me and different than any sauce I ever had as I don't eat Vietnamese food that often. I do reccomend tho. The pho at top of photo was not my fav from pho's I have tasted before else where. Seem simple and minimal in flavor. Broth is thin and not creamy. Meat was bit chewy.

If Nam Son were to ever run out of business, I'm leaving NYC for good. This fine establishment is the muscle of NYC. Places like this keep NYC running and keeps the hustle of the city alive. This is my family's favorite restaurant in NYC; my dad spends half of his car's gas tank to come here because it's that good. They don't hold back in anyway in terms of quality, taste, portions, and love for food. The pho is one of the richest broths I've ever tasted, and everything is just so flavorful and deep. My family and I always get the #1 Xe Lua pho, and we get the insane pork chops for the table. I love coming here in the winter especially because the pho and the restaurant itself is so cozy :) For those of you giving a horrible review like you really wanna get back at a Chinatown gem? Ok sure like the service isn't anything crazy but these people devote all the love to the food okay and you go for FOOD at a restaurant. If you want some fancy shmansy kiss your ass service go to some overpriced Italian restaurant lol.

Very decent pho. A few vegetarian options. Super fast service. Cash prices and credit card prices listed on the menu. Value for money is average.

Had the rice noodle soup with grilled pork. The broth was tasty and the grilled pork was delicious. The amount of noodles however was a lot less than other places I've been. The service was efficient and the ambiance was warm and cozy.

Amazing Pho Tai, such delicious and rich broth. Lots of beef which I love. The Bo Luc Lac was SO FLAVOURFUL and juicy, I couldn't get enough. Ca Phe Sua Da was on point. One of the best Vietnamese spots in Chinatown for sure! Service was fast, homey vibes and busy restaurant.

Great place for pho. I love how hot the soup was even after we finished all the noodles. The spring rolls were very crispy. The service was good, food came out quickly. Clean bathroom, nice place, but they help the door open which had flies coming in. Go there for the dish/ pho itself, but not for the appetizers because the appetizers are not as affordable. But I didn't like the fact that they accept CASH only.
